Does Open Space Impact You? The Truth May Surprise You

Improving mental health is a massive industry. Just do a straightforward Google search and you’ll discover nearly millions of results. Although did you realize that the science behind modern neurology is fairly young? Like a 100 years young? And that is not even taking into account the latest finding of neuroplasticity (your brain’s ability to modify) – a discovery that transformed what how neurologists see the brain and the birth of brain exercises and memory exercises.

In this article, I plan to show you two things that many folks fail to do when it comes to keeping up and strengthening their mental health. Since the science is very new, don’t be surprised if even experts missed these. Here goes.

1. You may by now understand that brain exercises will strengthen brain capacity. This is because when presented with a challenge, your brain alters and become stronger, much like your muscles. When challenges were presented to two groups of rats – 1 in a group with regular social interaction and the other batch in seclusion, the results were totally contrasting. The rats in groups had more neurons – as foreseen – yet the brains of the rats in seclusion actually shrunk! Yes, brain exercises can improve your mental health, however that is true only providing that you have usual social interaction.

2. You may not notice that however open space had a great influence on your psychology. A research was once carried out by John B. Calhoun, again on rats. When space is abundant, the rats behaved as imagined in an ideal natural world he place them in. Although when they multiplied and space became scarce, he observed unpredictable shifts in the rat’s behavior. Girls refuse to reproduce and become more and more aggressive while males became alienated and ceased courtship. Unsocial restriction had much been employed as a torture tool therefore don’t use it on yourself. Go out to an open area, preferably out of town, at worst once a week. You will love the experience.
