How many people have a photographic memory? This is very hard to say. The one’s that do, have received training from books, video tapes, audio (MP3) and some have used DVD’s. Some have even have been lucky to get some personal instruction from people who teach photographic memory techniques.
The human brain works like a computer. It is capable of storing lots of information. When a computer stores its files, it stores them so it can retrieve the information easily later. That is the secret for you, if you want memory improvement, you must store the information correctly in your brain. Could you imagine trying to retrieve a bunch of information that is all bundled together in not in any order? When you learn the excellent skills and exercises to enhance your memory, you learn to file the information away in an orderly fashion, so you can retrieve it whenever you need it.
One exercise is Association
So try to develop a photographic memory, by using the skill of association to gain the advantage. Sometimes it is difficult to remember a person’s name. But if you try to associate the name with something familiar, you are going to remember it every time.
For example, if you meet someone named Jonah and they are a large person, you can always think of their name as a reference to Jonah and the whale, a story from the bible. While that may be cruel, it’s a great way to remember and that’s what association is all about.
Another excellent method is to use Pictures
A great photographic memory booster is the use of pictures. Associating pictures when you learn something can be extremely useful. Think of it as you are using film to remember different things.
Like five, five, one for example. You can think of a picture of two gloves holding a bat. The gloves represent five because of the five fingers and the bat is the one because of its shape. Once you train your mind to think in pictures, remembering different things will become a whole lot easier. Learning these different types of training will make things much easier to remember things that you never thought possible.
